6. Louis Roederer, Brut Vintage 2003 65.00 In the best years Louis Roederer sets aside some wines for the making of the vintage cuvees. Because Roederer
ages these wines slowly, giving them considerable bottle age before disgorging, they are always full and mature,
reflecting the individual character of that year. Louis Roederer is able to create excellent vintage wines because
of the quality and specific location of its vineyards.
7. Elderflower Sparkling Wine Non Alcoholic 9.50
The magistrate, asked whether he preferred claret or burgundy, answered:
This is a case, madam, in which it is so pleasant to examine the evidence
that I always reserve my judgement for another week.

This Port sets a benchmark for LBV, far removed from what is widely sold as LBV by the big brands. Being unfiltered it behaves like the Vintage Port (needs decanting), while costing rather less.
37. Malvasia 10 Year Old Madeira, Barbeito Bottle 33.00 Glass 3.00 The same thing as Malmsey (old English corruption of Malvasia, the grape variety), this is the richest style of Madeira, but theres nothing treacly about Barbeitas classic version: the bracing undertow which is the hallmark of true Madeira gives a zesty and penetrating finish of real intensity. Best with nuts, can also work with some cheeses. Barbeito is one of the last independent family firms on the Island recently reinvigorated by Ricardo Freitas with the unswerving commitment to making 100% natural and authentic Madeira.
