Craigadam can assist with arrangements for weddings, receptions and honeymoons on any scale – from small and intimate bride and groom plus witnesses occasions to large-scale celebrations with several hundred guests. It may be you want a wedding on one of the anvils at Gretna, followed by a reception and a quiet honeymoon here at Craigadam – whatever it is, Craigadam has the Dumfries and Galloway wedding package for you.

Craigadam lends itself to a wide range of possibilities, with our panelled dining room and enclosed courtyard.

Civil or Religious Weddings

This is designed for couples wanting to arrange for a wedding by a Minister or a Humanist, at Craigadam, a Registry Office, Church or some other licensed location who then want to have a full-scale reception and may have up to 200 guests. Craigadam would be booked for a dedicated period for a wedding of this kind. Celia Pickup will arrange the following, which can be varied according to the bride’s desire:

• Booking of Craigadam, or Registry Office or local Church
• Documentation including license fees and all legal costs
• Advice on wedding favours and invitation cards, wedding dress, beautician, men’s suit or kilt hire
• Photographer with 50 photos including negatives
• Bridal bouquet and groom boutonnière
• Bottle of champagne and basket of flowers on arrival
• Registrar’s fees / Minister’s fees for the marriage performance
• Wedding cake and reception (dining room and/or courtyard marquee)
• Provision of piper
• Bridal suite for up to 7 night’s accommodation

Corsock Church, part of the Corsock & Kirkpatrick Durham Parish, is the nearest village church to Craigadam. The Minister, Reverend Sally Marsh, is happy to conduct weddings. Services are normally only held there at 11:30 am on the first Sunday of every month, so there is scope to use the Church for weddings at other times.

Honeymoon Holiday Packages

For newly-weds who have married elsewhere and want to enjoy the ambiance of peace and the countryside offered by Craigadam. We trust that it will be unforgettable and enjoyable. Package includes the following :-

• Bottle of champagne and basket of flowers on arrival
• Candle-lit intimate dinner
• Special cost of hotel room for 7 days

Wedding or Anniversary Blessing Packages

The Wedding Blessing Package may be a re-affirmation of vows by a couple in the presence of witnesses, probably friends or relatives, but an actual Blessing may involve a private service in the presence of a minister, either at Craigadam or at some other venue. This amounts to a marriage service except that no legal register is signed and no certificate of marriage is issued. As this can be a complex matter, depending on the guests and the degree of formality, the price will vary with the requirements of the couple.

This package includes the following:

• Bottle of champagne and basket of flowers on arrival
• Arrangement of a Wedding or Anniversary Blessing at a suitable venue, including any Church or Minister’s fees (optional)
• Photographer with 20 photos including negatives (optional)
• Arrangement of a Reception at Craigadam (optional)
• Candle-lit Dinner on the night of the Blessing (optional)
• Cost of hotel room for 7 days
